While it was an amazing historical building, and a⁠ wonderful restaurant, it was also much more than that. Shelter⁠ acted as our community hub, where locals worked and dined.⁠ Many stories and lives were shared within those walls.⁠ To the whole community, and especially the Shelter team, we⁠ grieve together as we have lost a huge part of Tofino's heart.⁠ To the volunteer firefighters from Tofino and Ucluelet, thank⁠ you for your hard work in keeping the community safe.⁠
