Western balladeer & actor John Gogo hails from a musical family in Snuneymuxw (aka Nanaimo), on Vancouver Island. He’s best known for writing & performing his folksongs about the people & places, the true & the tall tales of the west coast, the islands in particular.
From Haida Gwaii to St. John’s to Old Crow, John has played community halls & big houses, festivals & pubs, theatres & beer parlours.
John’s now recording his 6th album ‘Western Balladeer’ with Duke & Goldie, daughter Jeri Gogo, Tyler Lieb, David Essig, Ed Peekeekoot, brother Paul Gogo, cousin Brent Gubbels, Alan Moberg, Tobin Stokes, Rick Scott, Daniel Lapp, Dazy Weymer & Valdy.
Following the great response to his one-man ‘John Gogo Coal & Wood Show’ (set to re-launch in 2024) he continues with solo performances, guest appearances and tours with Duke & Goldie, featuring daughter Jena Gogo.
